...That this was the official web-color of The University of Chicago?
On a random Google search, I chanced upon the official graphics standards of The University of Chicago. This provided an official image of the Phoenix emblem, which I learned was adopted in 1910. Thus, I was able to update my previous poll-post on a better UofC logo.
In addition, the "Grapic Identity Resources" make clear that the official version of "Chicago Maroon" for the web is hexadecimal #800000 - the color in which this post has been posted. I'm trying to see whether there's any hope that #800000 works with the graphic identity of this blog, which admittedly is still somewhat settling.
