Sad news Wednesday: "Star Trek's 'Scotty' diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease". This particularly hits me because of the importance Star Trek played in my own imaginative formation. But this only adds to the urgency of pursuing cures to many neurodegenerative disorders with all the resources available - even if this does put me squarely opposed to some of the policy-views of LRK.

Let us pray for dignity for all those whose memory is taken from them, and all who must remember what they cannot.
