2004 UChicago Awards

Last week, The College awarded its highest commendations at the College Honors Awards Assembly (CHAA), the crowning event for fourth-years before being convoked. While you can read about the 2004 Student Leader and Service Awards and 2005 Student Marshals, I wanted to offer a special congratulations to this year's Perry S. Herst Prize honorees: Ryan Hollon and Maria Gaona, who were recognized for combining "excellence in pursuit of studies with a profound sense of social responsibility."

Also, The University has named the 2004 winners of the The Llewellyn John and Harriet Manchester Quantrell Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching: Nadine Di Vito (HCD/Romance Languages and Literatures), Martin Feder (BSCD/Organismal Biology and Anatomy), Michael Green (HCD/Philosophy), David Jablonski (PSCD/Geophysical Sciences), and Jim Leitzel (SSCD/Public Policy Studies). Their profiles reveal them to hold to the high standards of the award's 67-year history.
