Wonderful Birthday!

I've never had such a wonderful time turning 23! It was a relatively warm day outside in NYC, and I was treated to a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts, complete with 23 candles! Kev and I then headed down to the East Village to watch an open mic night for comics: Kev's new subletter-roommate is trying to break into the NYC comic scene. Probably two-thirds of the comics were...well...humor-challenged, but a third were really funny. Then, having gotten a tip, we headed across the street for a late night solo show with the inimitable EDDIE IZZARD! He was a riot, taking on everything from curling to superheroes (ancient and modern) to an audience heckler. All this for $10. It was a great evening, highlighting everything that's great about NYC. Between hearing from so many of you over email or phone, a great dinner the Sunday before, and a fun(ny) night in the city, this was a great way to start a new year and elide into high-stress Holy Week. And I want to give special thanks for Kev for producing a high-quality birthday experience!
